I've recently come across this link: http://www.rehashclothes.com/.
What an interesting concept?! My friends and I are were discussing something similar after a recent trip to the SwapSF clothing swap where we left sorely disappointed. All the clothes were ratty and harshly used. I think my friends and I brought the nicest stuff there and we even came home with each other's clothing! While I think that swapping books is a GREAT idea, the swapping of clothes needs A LOT of work. I think that we're willing to give it ONE more try (well some of us) but really, we were very sad after the clothing swap in January. After the event, we went through our "goods" and decided that next time we would just gather all our friends and acquaintances and have our own clothing, accessory, and jewelry (I just threw that in here!) in the comfort and cleanliness of someone's home.
What do you think of "rehasing"?

Hey! Are you on Rehash? There's a Bay Area group that could most definitely use a lovely member like yourself. I'm one of the Rehash creators and I live in San Francisco. I was trying to contact you but couldn't find an e-mail anywhere in your blog profile. Anyway, e-mail me! I'm trying to connect with Bay Area rehashers so we can think of putting together a live swap via Rehash, with GOOD items (not the "I found this in the back of my closet and it's not even mine" type of stuff) and we can even preview them on the site before swapping. My e-mail is anayma@orpheuxdesign.com Hope to hear from you soon, though you're probably super busy with the marathon (good luck with training!)
